A Whirlwind came across McLaughlin Park in Delhi and Walsh Public School took home a Norfolk Public School Athletic Association soccer title.
The Walsh Whirlwind went undefeated to capture the co-ed intermediate A championship, while Port Dover’s Lakewood Lakers brought home the junior A title.
The Whirlwind began its route to the championship with a 3-2 win against the Delhi Diamondbacks, before defeating Elgin Avenue Eagles 3-0. The Whirlwind then handed the Courtland Tigers a 3-1 loss to punch a ticket to the semifinal.
In that semifinal against Lynndale Heights Heat, the Whirlwinds prevailed 2-1 and then beat the Diamondbacks 1-0 in the final to win the title.
In the Intermediate B Division final, the Port Rowan Wildcats brought home that title.
In junior action, the Lakers defeated whirlwind to claim the A Division championship, while the Diamondbacks took the intermediate B title after beating the West Lynn Warriors.
