The Simcoe Seals got an early Christmas gift from their friends, the United Way, Haldimand & Norfolk.

This week, the local United Way presented equipment bags filled with swimming necessities for the athletes. United Way Executive Director Brittany Burley, Special Olympics Simcoe coach Shirley Shaw, the volunteers and athletes couldn’t contain their excitement at the Army, Navy & Airforce Unit 255 Simcoe.

The partnership came after the United Way heard about the Seals’ funding problems when Norfolk County hiked up pool time fees in October. To read that story CLICK HERE.

Shaw said that an anonymous donor has also stepped up to help with the pool costs for the Seals now that they are able to begin training again.
