The Caledonia Thunder U18 team is showing that they can step up and take on anyone.
A BB centre, the Thunder decided to play bigger teams over the weekend in the A division at the Adam Keunen Memorial Tournament, coming home with a silver medal.
And they did it by not allowing many goals.
After a tough start to the tournament, a 2-0 loss to the Centre Wellington Fusion on Friday, the Thunder went on a run that only saw the group give up one goal in the next five games in two days.
Saturday, the Thunder blanked the Halton Hills Thunder 2-0 and Lindsay Muskies 7-0.
Championship Sunday began with a 4-0 shutout of the Georgina Blaze 4-0 in the quarter-final. In the semifinal, the Thunder continued to roll with a 7-0 victory over the Thunder, before dropping a 1-0 nailbiter to the St. Catharines Thunder in the championship game.
So far this season, the Thunder have been dominant in Southern Counties Minor Hockey action, with a 13-5-1 record.
