U15 Xtreme earn silver

The Simcoe Xtreme U15 came away with silver medals at a recent Ontario Volleyball Association Burgarski Cup – Trillium Green C tournament at Holy Trinity.

The Xtreme had a great day, before losing the Smash Raiders Super Sonics 2-0 (25-6, 25-12) to earn the silver.

En route to the championship game, the Xtreme went 1-1 in round robin action, losing 2-1 (25-20, 22-25, 15-11) to Lakeside Inkemba, and defeted Milton Edge Sapphire 25-23, 25-16.

Earning first place in their pol, they faced local rivals Norfolk Chaos Elite, and won 2-1 (16-25, 25-10, 15-6). In the semifinal, they beat Georgetown Impact Force 2-1 (25-20, 15-25, 15-9).

Norfolk Chaos had two teams at the tournament, with the Chaos Elite going 0-2 in round robin action. They lost 2-0 (25-9, 25-13) to Smash Raiders Super Sonics, and 2-1 to the Xtreme.

In the quarter-final, they beat Norfolk Chaos Fury 2-0 (25-23, 25-8).

The Fury went 0-2 in round robin action, losing 2-0 (25-9, 25-6) to Georgetown Impact Force, and 2-1 (25-12, 22-25, 15-4) to Pakmen Black.

U14 TOURNEY

This past weekend, it was the U14 players to take centre stage at Holy Trinity.

The Simcoe Xtreme ended up in fifth place overall, while Norfolk Chaos Navys and Crushers were fifth and seventh respectively.

The Xtreme went 1-1 in round robin action, losing 2-0 (25-8, 25-17) to MVC Fuji and beat KW Predators Infinity 2-0 (25-17, 25-18).

In the quarter-finals, the Xtreme dropped a 2-0 (25-23, 25-22) to the Ancaster Lions Pride., and then beat Norfolk Chaos Crushers 2-0 (25-23, 25-12).

The Chaos Navys went 0-2 in round robin, dropping a 2-0 (25-10, 25-22) decision to Defensa, and 2-0 (25-22, 25-15) to Smash Raiders Strikers.

In the quarter-final, Chaos Navys lost 2-1 (24-26, 25-13, 15-10) to MVC Fuji, before losing 2-0 (25-22, 25-21) to Smash Raiders.

The Chaos Crushers lost 2-0 (25-12, 25-11) to Scorpion Rebellion, and 2-0 (25-21, 25-16) to Ancaster Lions Pride.

After losing to the Xtreme in the quarter-final, the chaos Crushers beat KW Predators Infinity 2-0 (25-16, 25-21).
