The Tillsonburg Tornadoes 51st-straight win of the season, was one of its biggest.
On Sunday, the undefeated Southern Counties leaders beat the Omaha Jr. Mavs, from Nebraska, in overtime, to capture the International Silver Stick atom A title in Sarnia.
The Tornadoes, who captured the Sudbury regional, kicked off the international finals with a 7-2 victory over the Owen Sound Attack., before blanking the Mt. Clemens Wolves 5-0 later in the day Friday.
On Saturday, the Tornadoes continued to dominate, beating the Capitals Academy, from Arlington, VA, before blanking King Rebellion 6-0.
Their perfect record set them up for the semifinals on Sunday morning against the Orillia Terriers, where the Tornadoes went to work, punching a ticket to the final with a 4-1 victory.
In the final against the Jr. Mavs, the Tornadoes needed overtime, to capture the International Silver Stick title 6-5.
With the International Silver Stick title in tote, the Tornadoes will now focus on the Ontario Minor Hockey Association playdowns and Southern Counties playoffs.
They are currently up 4-0 in its best-of-six point playdown series with the Caledonia Thunder.
