Shweyer earns 30th career ICS win in thriller
Simcoe’s Rob Schweyer is at it again, this time at the International Softball Conference World Tournament.
On Monday, the right-handed pitcher had eight strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win as he and the Kegel Black Knights defeated the Circle Tap Dukes 4-3 in eight innings.
The win was Schweyer’s 30th career ISC victory.
The Black Knights are now 2-0. In their opener they defeated the Ashland A’s 6-0. Now they face the Kitchener Hallman Twins Wednesday at 9pm.
Hill United off to a strong start.
The Hill United Chiefs are off to a strong 2-0 start at the International Softball Conference World Tournament in Eldridge, IA.
The Chiefs opened with a 17-0 win over LC Ostrander Norsemen.
Pablo Migliavacca got the win, striking out nine in five innings of work.
Jason Hill had three hits, while Quinten Bruce, Tony Gonzalez, and Scott Boland had three RBI each.
Devon McCullough struck out 12 batters over five innings to lead the Chiefs to a 11-0 win over AWP Lumberjacks on Monday.
Brad Ezekiel, Bruno Motroni and Boland all had two hits. Ezekiel and Boland knocked in three runs, while Motroni had two RBI.
Wednesday is a big one for the Chiefs. They take on arch rival New York Gremlins at 7pm.
