Trevor Slaven showed why he was the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League Goalie of the Month for December.
The Langton Royals Jr Hockey Club goalie turned away 33 shots Sunday at home to lead his team to a 4-2 victory over the Seaforth Generals in their return to action after the Christmas break.
The Generals got off to a great start, getting first period goals from Owen Haiek and Siinasi Tasse-Dion.
And that’s all Slavin would allow, as his teammates scored four unanswered goals en route to victory.
Jack Dorey scored two second-period goals, while Colin Spence added another in the frame. Spence then scored his second goal late in the third period to provide a bit of insurance.
The win improves the Royals record to 12-3-0-2-1.
Sunday, they return to the Langton to take on the Muskoka Anglers’Junior Hockey Club at 7:30pm.
