The Brantford Red Sox are hoping to pick the perfect time to get that first win, and more against the Kitchener Panthers.
After going 0-4 against the No. 3 seed Panthers, the No. 6 seed Red Sox will get their chance for revenge in the best-of-three Intercounty Baseball League quarter-final series.
The Red Sox finished the season 11-19, but began to surge during the last third of the 30-game schedule, going 6-4.
Sunday, the Red Sox closed out the regular season with a 6-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Christie Pits.
Justin Marra and Garret Takamatsu both hit home runs to lead the way for the Maple Leafs, while Michael Deluca and Gianfranco Morello drove in Brantford’s runs and combined to collect half of the Red Sox’s four hits.
Brian Sewell got the win on the mound, pitching two scoreless innings. Luca Lombardi took the loss for the Sox.
