A mammoth second period lifted the Paris Mounties Jr Hockey to a Game 7 in their Provincial Junior Hockey League PJHL Doherty Division quarter-final with the Woodstock Navy Vets.
After Eric Tuori scored twice in the first period to give the Navy Vets a lead, the Mounties struck four times in the second period to come away with a 5-3 victory.
Eric Vandereyk, Wil Hurley, Tanner Mitton, and Kyle Brezinski all scored during that second-period explosion. Reid Campbell had the lone Navy Vets response.
In the third period, Brezinski netted his second goal of the game to put the game on ice.
Justin Hergott again showed why he was the division’s Most Valuable Player, making 42 saves for the win.
Game 7 is Saturday, in Woodstock, at 7:45pm.
