After a tough first game, the Port Dover Pirates bantam local league team bounced back in a big way to win four straight games to capture the Jerry Smith Tournament in Glanbrook over the weekend.
The Pirates started off with a 4-1 loss to Glanbrook Friday.
Despite the loss, the Pirates rose to the occasion Saturday, beating the Lawfield Oilers 9-1, and then the Delhi Rockets #2 7-6.
With a spot in championship Sunday punched, the Pirates beat the Delhi Rockets #1 in the semifinal early in the morning, before capturing the championship later in the day against Glanbrook Red.
