The Norwich Knighthawks will play for the Ontario Minor Hockey Association midget DD championship.
On Tuesday at home in front of a big crowd, the Knighthawks overwhelmed the Drayton Defenders 8-1 to sweep the best-of-six point semifinal series 6-0.
The Knighthawks will take on the winner of the semifinal between the Centre Hastings Grizzlies and Flesherton Golden Hawks.
That series is tied 2-2.
To get to the final, the Knighthawks started with a 6-0 sweep of Langton, before disposing of Dresden 6-2 in the quarter-final.
MIDGET BB
On Wednesday, the Simcoe Warriors OMHA midget B run came to an end.
Playing in Petrolia Wednesday night, the Warriors couldn’t pull out another comeback, dropping a 6-2 decision to the Oilers.
The Warriors were the cardiac kids of the midget BB bracket, coming from behind several times in games and series.
The Petrolia Oilers will now take on the winner of the semifinal between Kincardine and Ennismore.
PEEWEE C
The Six Nations Blackhawks had all they could handle against the East Lambton Eagles.
On Wednesday, the Blackhawks dropped a 4-3 decision to the Eagles, who sweep the best-of-six point OMHA peewee C semifinal 6-0.
The Eagles will face the winner of the semifinal between Sturgeon Falls and Minto.
