The Brantford 99ers had their two-game win streak snapped Tuesday night thanks to a 7-3 loss to the Aurora Tigers in Ontario Junior Hockey League action.

Jake Partridge scored two goals in the losing effort, with Brendan Anderson netting the other.

Connor VanWeelie led the Tigers with two goals and one assist, while Jett McCullum, William Smith, Luc Reeve, Lee Chiang, and Nick Lamont added singles.

Justin Wu took the loss between the pipes, making 28 saves. Nolan Boyd stopped 21 shots for the Tigers.

On Friday, it was Easton Wainwright’s turn to score a pair of goals, this time leading the 99ers to a 5-3 victory over the Milton Menace.

Partridge added another goal, while Jaden Lee and Lucas Thompson also added one each.

Lucas Buzziol, Holden Rogers, and Jordan Stock scored for the Menace.

Ben Bonisteel was busy in the 99ers net, making 38 stops to preserve the win.

The night before, Wainwright and Partridge led the way, scoring two goals each in a 7-2 win over the Markham Royals.

Ryan VanNetten, Steven Li, and Kurt Watson added singles to the cause.

Jacob Archer and Khaden Henry scored for the Royals.

Justin Wu got the win in a 34-stop effort.

Earning four of six points in the last three games allows the 99ers to keep pace in a very competitive OJHL West Division. While the Burlington Cougars, who are ranked eighth in the country, are alone in first place, the Georgetown Raiders, Menace Oakville Blades and 99ers are all clustered together, with only three points separating second place and fifth.

The 99ers have another huge week. Thursday they host the Menace at the Gretzky Centre at 7:30pm, before hitting the road to face the Raiders, also at 7:30pm. Sunday they are back at home to host the Pickering Panthers at 4pm.
