It’s no secret Austin Davison sees plenty of rubber.
During the month of December, the last line of defence for the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats faced 381 shots in eight Provincial Junior Hockey League games, winning three of those, and keeping his team in every single one they didn’t. And for his efforts, he was named PJHL Bloomfield Division’s Goalie of the Month.
During this stretch, Davison faced more than 40 shots in every game but one, and forced the opposition to overtime four times. His two biggest games were 51-save performances, a 3-2 win against the Grimsby Peach Kings and 5-4 vicotry over the Hespeler Jr C Shamrocks.
So far this season, Davison is 9-17, with two shutouts, has a 3.83 goals against average, and a .902 save percentage.
The Offensive Player of the Month was Noah Matteson, of the Glanbrook Rangers, while Matt Schouppe was named the Defensive Player of the Month.
