The Special Olympics floor hockey team from Simcoe flexed its muscle at a recent tournament in Burlington.
The local squad battled hard throughout the tournament and came away with bronze medals.
In the opener, Simcoe had a tough opponent in the form of Welland, and lost 8-3. Unflappable as always, Simcoe rebounded back and handed Burlington a 8-1 defeat.
In their third game, Simcoe dropped a tight one, a 4-3 decision to London. That loss seemed to spark the local team, who then beat Oakville 4-3 and then Oakville again, 4-1 to capture the bronze.
