Haldimand Heat kept busy

The 08 Haldimand Heat were kept busy with six games in seven days, and coming away with a 3-2-1 record.

six games in seven days and we ended up 3-2-1 for the week. 

After dropping a 9-4 decision to the Palmerston Marlins, before playing to a tie in a game with their Haldimand Heat sisters.

They also took on the Stratford Flames, Halton Hawks, Brantford Bobcats and Wilmont Thunder.

On Saturday and scored a combined 32 runs over the two games while the defence kept the other teams to eight. 

The Heat now sit at 6-5-1 for the season. Next up is one that matters against the Stratford Flames Tuesday in PWSA bracket action.

D1 Revolution busy with tournament action 

Both the D1 Revolution U16 and U19 teams were busy this weekend with tournament action.

The U19 Revolution were in Windsor and came out with a very impressive 3-1-1 record.

Against Windsor Open the Revolution scored a 6-2 win, and defeated the Ajax Chaos 12-2, and Windsor U16 6-3. They tied the LaSalle Athletics 4-4, with the only blemish coming against Windsor UTM, 6-4.

In U16 action, the Revolution went 1-3 at a friendly tournament in Halton.

They lost 8-2 to the Ontario Blue Jays, 12-5 to the Oakville Angels, and 1-0 to the Halton Hawks. The revolution’s win was an 8-4 victory over the Angels.

There were some great individual efforts over the weekend by players from both teams.

Mikayla Doucette hit an out of the park grand slam to kick off her weekend at the plate. She racked up eight hits, six RBI, and scored six runs for a .471 average this weekend.

Kelly Tikel kept her bat consistent again this weekend reaching base nine times with nine singles. She also picked up five RBI, scored two runs and had a .600 average.

Aleecia Miranda continued to collect extra base hits with a double, two triples and nine hits in total. She provided the team with four RB, scored eight runs and averaged .529 at the plate.
