Jake Brown continues to light it up for the Tillsonburg Thunder.

The 25-year-old forward scored a hat trick, while Jesse Raymond turned aside 45 shots as the Thunder skated by the Elora Rocks 7-5 in Western Ontario Super Hockey League action Friday.

Brown and Mark Hamilton exchanged goals in the first period, before Braden Roberts and Brown added to the lead in the second frame. Late in the second period, Alex Utley responded for the Rocks, before Christopher Nauts regained the Thunder two-goal lead.

In the third period, Brown netted his hat trick goal, while Kurtis Christo and Matt Weston added one each.

Hamilton, Spencer MacCormack and Utley scored for the Rocks.

While Raymond made 45 stops, Edward Davey made 25 saves for the Rocks.

Brown’s three goals gives him eight on the season, which gives him the WOSHL lead. He also has 11 points in four games, which is also tops in the loop, one ahead of the Rocks’ Utley.

With the win, the Thunder have now won two games in a row and are 3-1, and sit in second place. Saturday they hit the road to take on the Stratford Fighting Irish at 4:30pm.
