Hawks take a quick 2-0 lead on Sailors

It’s safe to say the Hagersville Hawks Jr C Hockey are taking care of business.
The Hawks opened its best-of-seven Provincial Junior Hockey League Bloomfield Division quarter-final against the Pt Dover Sailors at home Saturday night, with a 7-4 victory.
Tycie Cowan led the way scoring a hat trick, while Brendan Judson, Patrick Sanelli, Connor Stirling, and Ralph Taggart each added one goal.
George Karalos also had a big game, scoring three for the Sailors. Isaac MacAulay netted the other goal.
On Sunday afternoon in Game 2, it was Matt Weston’s time to shine. He scored twice for the Hawks in a 4-2 win.
Cowan and Taggart added goals for the Hawks.
Nicolas d’Agonstino and Dylan Stroud responded for the Sailors.
The Hawks now lead the best-of-seven series 2-0. Game 3 is in Hagersville Tuesday at 8:30pm, with Game 4 Thursday at 7:30pm in Port Dover.

Peach Kings up 2-0 on Mudcats

The Grimsby Peach Kings are showing why they are the top seed in the Provincial Junior Hockey League Bloomfield Division.
Friday in Game 1 of its best-of-seven PJHL Bloomfield Division quarter-final against the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, Mike Venditelli and Mason Gibson scored twice to lead the Peach Kings to a 7-0 victory.
Addison DeTullio, Bailey Stumpo, and Tyler Bush each added one goal.
Riley Maskell made 26 stops for the shutout. Down at the other end, Austin Davison made 33 saves.
On Sunday in Dunnville, Dalton White and Gibson scored first-period goals to lead the Peach Kings to a 4-1 win.
Tyler bush and Stumpo added singles.
Bryce Hoggard was the lone Mudcat to beat Riley Eberhardt, who made 19 stops. Davison made 29.
With a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, the Peach Kings host Game 3 Wednesday, before Game 4 returns to Dunnville. Both games are at 7:30pm.

Shamrocks one win from next round
For the first time in a long time, the Hespeler Shamrocks are one win away from the Provincial Junior Hockey League Bloomfield Division semifinal.
The Shamrocks scored a 4-3 win over the Dundas Blues on the Road Thursday, before winning 5-4 in overtime Saturday. Sunday. Gavin McLeod was perfect between the pipes in a 3-0 win.
The Shamrocks lead the best-of-seven division quarter-final 3-0. Game 4 is Wednesday in Hespeler at 7:30pm.

Ranger need double OT to lead RiverHawks

The Glanbrook Rangers needed double overtime Saturday, to defeat the Niagara RiverHawks Jr. Hockey Club 2-1 in Game 3 of their Provincial Junior Hockey League Bloomfield Division quarter-final.
The series began Wednesday, with the RiverHawks taking a 3-2 win, before the Rangers bounced back with a 6-1 victory Thursday.
Game 4 of the best-of-seven series is Tuesday in Niagara Falls, with Game 5 Wednesday in Glanbrook. Both games are at 7:30pm.
